The practical
details.
How does the document allowance work?
Each new document or full regeneration uses one from your allowance; editing, refining in chat, exporting and Ask Project are free. Paid plans add a fresh allowance every billing date (Starter and Professional roll unused documents over, up to 3x the monthly amount). Document packs bought on top never expire and are always used last.
Can I change my plan anytime?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade effective at the next invoice cycle unless our billing provider applies proration — we mirror that behaviour in-account.
What happens when I run out of documents?
Generation pauses until you renew, upgrade, or buy a document pack — unless you have switched on auto top-up (a pack is charged and added automatically) or overage (keep generating at $2.00 per document, billed once a month, up to a cap you set). Your projects and uploads stay intact either way.
Is my data secure?
Files are encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest. Team and Enterprise tiers add a choice of document storage region and optional customer-managed keys as described above.
Do you offer refunds?
We generally do not refund partial months if you consumed documents, but reach out via support@custovia.io if something went wrong—we handle edge cases pragmatically.
Which plans include Bids and Tenders?
Professional includes 1 active bid and 1 active tender at a time, Team 5 of each, and Enterprise unlimited. Submitted, won, lost and closed bids, and awarded and cancelled tenders, don’t count. Bids and Tenders aren’t on Starter or the Free Trial — but every plan, the Free Trial included, can open the sample bid for free.
How many documents does a bid or a tender use?
Reading a bid’s RFP for the first time uses 10 documents; that covers every re-read, the outline, one first draft per section of the first outline plus 3 spare, and the first answers to up to 1,000 rows of the buyer’s forms. A re-draft uses 1 document per section, and drafting the Statement of Work uses 1. In Tenders, each AI run — drafting the RFP, assessing one vendor, writing the evaluation report — uses 1 document. Failed runs are refunded automatically; reviews, pricing, scoring and exports use none.
Can I try before I buy?
